This just in…
After some recent findings about who will be attending the Aspin Cup in conjunction with what certain individuals have been otherwise indicating I have included a photo of my prediction for next weekend.

Another frigging t-shirt??
So if you were organizing a squash tournament and you wanted to include something other than a t-shirt in the tournament package…what would it be?
We (those who organize tournaments) are always looking for new ideas.

Masters Divisions
Ok….so there is a lot of (squash) skill in that tired old body of yours…..it is a shame that you are not playing in the tournaments. Why is that?
If the above comment/question applies to you, I am interested in knowing how Squash PEI can encourage you to participate in our events. I know we do have an occasional “Legends” division in our tournaments, but this option seems very under-utilized. What can we do to encourage greater participation from our more senior players? A more definitive minimum age? Point-a-Rally scoring? Best two out of three? More time between games, matches? Beer on tap between games? Free body massages? Comments please.

Big Night in the Little City
Well the new courts in Summerside are starting to pick up. Last night a blockbuster crew of handsome young men and their dad packed a lunch and a car care kit and ventured out of the woods to give the new courts a round or two. The casting director stated that Fabio was on hand with his flowing golden locks while Justin Timberlake was bringing Sexyback.
Other notables included Little Scotty Gamble, one man boy band Thomas Webb and their dad (Scott Hamill). Upon arrival we were greeted by long time Summerside veteran Butch Bouchard and then much to everybody’s surprise, like mice heading indoors with cold weather coming, Billy Gaudet and Terry Mills came by for a Rust Check. Billy was sporting some new hardware on his left knee but that didn’t hurt his ability to run around like a bull in a china shop. Terry’s game was a little rusty to start but he was showing some fine touch that perhaps his older brother Chris may try to take credit for. Alfredo was also on hand to keep everybody honest in the court and provide some much needed exercise.
All in all in was a great night of slandering each other and playing squash. Good to see some people coming out of the woodwork and I even overheard a couple of young fellas saying they’d like to give it a try sometime. That’s all for now and remember that Mikey B may be #2 at the plant but he’s still #1 in our hearts.

Rust has been removed
Well, by most accounts the anticipated post-Rust Remover squash butt has taken hold of many a limping squash player who now hobble about their respective communities, both near and far from this past weekend’s tourney venue in Montague.
Sweat bands off to Michele LeClair for putting together a unique and successful RR again this year. With several of the initial matches taking place in Charlottetown Thursday and Friday nights it made for a manageable day on Saturday at the Atlantic Fitness Centre East in Montague. With close to 40 participants in 8 draws, all went smoothly, without any hitches.
Michele was able to sneak in a quick lunch, Alfredo arrived with family in tow providing hours of entertainment, thanks to 2 year old, bilingual Sophia, and it was nice to see the Gamble grandchildren as well!
And speaking of the very young…looks like we’ve snagged a fresh one! Travis’ boy Tynan signed up for the tournament. He confidently stepped into the court with the not so very young Austin McQuaid and played his heart out.
Good job Ty!!
Any more Rust Remover stories, past and present, anyone would like share??

Another Court sighting…

Little hand prints found at the UPEI courts. It would appear that the hands in question are small and perhaps capable of gymnastical feats.
